Alex West Compound

The Alex West compound, completed in 2024, is a prominent development located along the development axis, in front of Mariout Lake, near Alexandria, Egypt. This project benefitted from the expertise of ECG as the consultant and United Construction Company (AlMotaheda) as the main contractor. The foundation waterproofing was meticulously executed by Black Rhino under the leadership of Eng. Ashraf Safwat. To ensure permanent waterproofing, Xypex Admix C-1000 NF and Xypex Concentrate were used. Xypex Admix C-1000 NF was incorporated into the first 20 cm at the bottom of the raft slab, which has a total thickness of approximately 180 cm. Subsequently, Xypex Concentrate was applied to all four sides of the raft slab. This strategic use of Xypex products provided a comprehensive waterproofing solution, enhancing the durability and longevity of the foundation by preventing water ingress and ensuring structural integrity. The Alex West compound stands as a testament to the effectiveness of Xypex’s advanced waterproofing technology in protecting critical infrastructure.
