Valore Smouha Compound

The Valore Smouha Compound, executed by Elghonimy for trading and contracting, involved extensive waterproofing efforts due to significant water pressure and uplift challenges. Beton, for consulting and construction chemicals, provided the waterproofing specification, and ALBatanony, for engineering and contracting, handled the waterproofing and concrete supervision.

Xypex Admix C-1000 NF was integral to this project, with approximately 35 tons used. The admixture was used in the concrete for the top 25 cm of the 100 cm raft slab and the 30 cm retaining walls. It enhanced water resistance through its crystalline growth technology, which reacts with water to block pathways for water ingress. Xypex admix not only ensures long-term waterproofing but also enhances the durability and self-healing properties of the concrete while withstanding high hydrostatic pressure.

Xypex Concentrate was crucial in repairing any cracks and joints in the structure. It was combined with Xypex Patch’n Plug, a fast-setting hydraulic cement product, to address immediate leaks and defects in the concrete. This combination ensured a robust and durable repair, effectively sealing cracks and stopping active water flow. Additionally, pile head treatments were applied using Xypex Concentrate to ensure comprehensive waterproofing of the entire structure. Overall, using Xypex products in the Valore Smouha Compound ensured superior waterproofing performance, increased durability, and long-term structural integrity, making it a reliable choice for dealing with high water pressure and uplift conditions.
