Hayat Marseilia Compound

The Hayat Marseilia Compound, located in Elsiouf, Alexandria, Egypt, was completed in 2019 required a strong focus on foundation waterproofing due to the soil and groundwater having elevated chloride levels from the water nearby, posing a significant threat to concrete and the reinforcing rebar. Xypex Admix C-1000 NF and Xypex Concentrate was specified to ensure the durability and waterproofing of the concrete structures and protection of the reinforcing rebar. The raft slab, measuring 115 cm in thickness, incorporated Xypex Admix C-1000 NF in the top 25 cm layer, while the 30 cm thick retaining walls were similarly treated with the admixture. This application of Xypex products provided integral waterproofing through crystalline technology, forming a permanent, self-healing barrier within the concrete matrix. The crystalline formation effectively sealed pores and capillary tracts, offering long-term protection against water ingress and reducing maintenance needs. Additionally, Xypex Concentrate was applied to critical joints and areas, enhancing the overall chemical resistance of the structure and safeguarding it against aggressive environmental elements.
