Hacienda Bay, by Palm Hills

The Hacienda Bay is a beachfront residential development in Egypt built by a prominent real estate developer. Contractor Hassan Allam was responsible for fulfilling the waterproofing needs of the project. Dr. Shafik Khoury and Dr. Walid Shalabi served as the overseeing consultants. 

Xypex Admix C-1000 NF and Xypex Concentrate were used to waterproof various structures, including swimming pools, landscape elements, potable water tanks, wastewater tanks, and rooftops. With the development being close to the oceanfront, Xypex technology provides protection to the concrete from chlorides and ensures long-term durability and permanent waterproofing.

Xypex is a unique chemical treatment for the waterproofing, protection, and improvement of concrete. Xypex Admix C-1000 NF is added to the concrete mix at the time of batching. Xypex Admix C-1000 NF contains various active, proprietary chemicals.

These active chemicals react with the moisture in fresh concrete and with the byproducts of cement hydration to cause a catalytic reaction. This reaction generates a non-soluble crystalline formation throughout the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete that permanently seals the concrete and prevents the penetration of water. This approach is cost-effective and eliminates the need for conventional on-site methods.
